We give because He gave

Generosity at Yosemite Church

Everything we have belongs to God, and giving is part of faithfully managing what He entrusts to us. Generosity is the spiritually mature response to God’s grace and our trust in Him to provide.

Why We Give

1.We give because God gave first.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son" (John 3:16). Our generosity is a response to His sacrificial grace.

2.We give with an eternal mindset.

Giving loosens the grip of possessions and places us as stewards, not owners, of what God provides (Luke 16; Matthew 6:19–20).

3.We give sacrificially.

Generosity is measured not by amount but by the condition of the heart (Mark 12:41–44).

4. We give to put God first.

Tithing and planned generosity train our hearts to seek God above all else (Deuteronomy 14:23; Matthew 23:23).

5. We give out of obedience and joy.

"Freely you have received; freely give" (Matthew 10:8). God loves a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7).

6. We give to advance the gospel.

Giving is an investment in eternity and a primary means by which the mission of Jesus is carried locally and globally (1 Corinthians 16:2–3).

Growing in Generosity: Our Identity in Christ

We become generous by growing into who God says we are.

I am loving

Experiencing God’s generous love compels us to live generously

John 3:16

I am A disciple

Disciples learn from Jesus and make a fundamental decision about whom they will serve (Matthew 6:24). Tithing trains us to put God first (Deuteronomy 14:23).

I am loved

Following Jesus means loving like Him—and loving gives.

Matthew 10:8; Acts 20:35

I am a mentor

We invest in others’ spiritual growth, extending the grace we have received and multiplying generosity (2 Corinthians 9:6–8).

I am a missionary

We live on mission, using our resources to spread the gospel and invest in eternity (1 Corinthians 16:2; 1 Timothy 6:17–19).

We invite you to live a robust faith with us - to embrace your identity as God’s beloved child and to reflect His love and purposes through a generous lifestyle, patterned after the teaching and example of Jesus.

Giving is not merely about funding ministry; it is about forming disciples. As we give consistently and sacrificially, God grows our trust, deepens our joy, and uses our generosity to bring life transformation to countless people, locally and globally.

Give. Grow. Go.
